Song of the moment

Any guesses ...

It has got to be "Hot Mess" by Cobra Starship. When I first heard the song on the radio I burst out laughing. I couldn't believe a phrase that Perez Hilton coined, generally in referencce to either Paris Hilton or Britney Spears had become a song.

It is just so darn catchy though, and I always love Cobra Starship's clips

SATC

While I'm a big fan of SATC the thought of Miley Cyrus appearing in the movie is enough to make me shudder. I really do not like the girl.

Why ruin a good thing I say. I just assumed the news that she was to appear in the sequel as Mr Bigs illegitimate child was a rumor... unfortunately I was wrong!

The pic below shows a scene where Kim Catralls charater Samantha and Miley turn up wearing the same metallic Matthew Williamson dress.

Emmys 09

I know that I am a bit late to post on this but here goes! It appears the Emmys this year was all about the red.

My top five in order were:
1. Hayden Panettiere
2. January Jones in Versace
3. Vanessa Williams
4. Blake Lively
5. Leighton Meester

Not too sure about Blake Lively hair at this event, its a bit Fergie from the B.E.P, I think she could have done waaay better.

Loved my number one choice - Hayden's outfit, she was a vision of perfection if you ask me. Also adored the colour of Vanessa's gown.

Premier Gossip Girl - Season 3

I am majorly excited about the start of season 3 which premiered in the states on Monday night (Sept 14).

All the promos I have seen to date look hilarious and I can't wait to see what the gang get up to now they are in college.

I am particularly loving the promo shots, my favourite so far is the above picture which features the shows stars looking extremely glamorous.

My favourites are of course Blake Lively in Versace and Leighton in Ellie Saab, how amazing do Blair and Serena look?

VMA's Fashion

There were a few interesting looks at the VMA's. My four winners were:

Beyonce she looked fierce in red.

Kristen Cavalli in silver,

Leigtons Cristian Cota dress looked great on her and those shoes are just to die for.

Finally Taylor Swift, the VMA's princess!

WFT Is Up With Drew Barrymore's Hair

Is it me or is it just plain foul.

I mean it looks like she just diped the tip of her hair in a bowl of hair dye and said, yep ok thats me done, now lets see if this look catches on.

My prediction ... no it won't!

VMA's

The whole Taylor Swift, Kayne West and Beyonce' thing is on everyone's lips.

I mean when this story makes it onto my local news in regional Australia, then you know ... it is news!

Can I just say how gracefully Taylor Swift acted thoughtout the entire thing. She really comes across as a sweet and gracious girl, even more so after this.

And Beyonce' wow, I never thought I would say it. I respect her music and have always thought she was one of the most talented in the business, but she kind of has a reputation as a diva. Her actions and her humbleness in allowing Taylor to have her moment really struck a cord with me and I saw her in a whole new light.

Chance & Bar = ?

Celebrity Bloggers are reporting that model Bar Refaeli and Gossip Girl Actor Chance Crawford are hooking up.

This leads me to two thoughts:

Are they both not the most beautiful people in the world ?

And the second thought (following on closely from the first) what genetically blessed children they would produce :p

Recent Anniversary of September 11 Attacks on NY

Like most you, the recent anniversary of the September 11 attacks has not been too far from my mind. Particularly because I cannot believe it has been eight years since the attacks happened. While it seems like forever ago,I can still remember waking up for school and seeing the footage on TV, it was like it was a scene from a movie, and I couldn't comprehend that it was real!

Another reason that the anniversary struck something with me is because (most unfortunately) there does not appear to be a great deal of progress made by the invasion of Iraqi for either the coalition or the people of the middle east which saddens me.

Like most people in Australia, I don't presume to be a political or religious expert (especially on Islamic countries). So about six months ago I brought a book which I hoped would increase my understanding of the religious beliefs of the Muslim people and how this impacts the political relations with the west.

Without realising I picked this book up early last week as I hoped it would provided a different type of reading than what I was then preoccupied with - textbook reading for my upcoming exam on health policy. The book far exceeded any of my expectation and I highly recommend that everyone read it.

The book was written by well-respected Australian Journalist and current Foreign Correspondent host George Negus titled The World From Islam; A Journey of discovery through the Muslim heartland.

The book really opened my eyes further to the practices of the Islamic faith including a greater understanding of the five pillars, the meaning of the five daily prayers and that Ramadan does not just include forgoing of food between daylight and dusk.

Truly inspiring read and one which has further ignited my interest in the topic.

Australian Music

I am loving a lot of the Australian music that is being released at the present.

Case point Vanessa Amorosi's new single This is who I am
what an utterly fantasic new song.

It is the type of song that I love, that my nearly 50 mother will love, that my younger sister would enjoy and potentially a song my niece and nephew (both under ten) would sing along to. I'm predicting an Australian number one sooner or later!

Another Aussie artist that is rocking my world is Cassie Davis. Is this girl golden or what. Seriously every song off her recently released album is a must have! The girl is goreous, talented, AND she writes and produces all of her own music, what is not to love?

Shoe Lust

Amongst other things I am seriously lusting after some fantastic new shoes.

While some say that the current trends of the past few seasons are stiff and unfeminine I say they are pieces of art!

For example the Nicholas Kirwood Shoes pictured above are just fantastic and remind me of new season gladiator godess meets fashion forward party princess. The contrast of the gold and black (and normally I am not a gold girl) just pops!

Another shoe that I am loving is the Camilla Skovgaard satain chain embellished sandals. But I don't thing they are for the faint hearted. These shoes really say I'm a tough independent woman who knows what she wants and isn't afraid to get it and maybe thats why I love them so much.

Finally the Isabel Marant booties are just fantastic, some may say it is over but I am still diggin the studded/metallic look!

SATC 80's flashbacks

Personally I am loving the 80's flashbacks that are dominating the filming at present. So far we have seen snaps of all four girls in 80's get up.

The storyline is suppose to represent how the girls first met and how their friendships developed.

If this is true I am happy to hear it. I have always thought that it was a major hole in the story lines that was not addressed.

The pictures I have seen so far look hilarious, especially Kim Catrall's character Samantha.

SATC Sequel Fever!

At the moment I am loving all things related to the start of filming of the SATC sequel. Although I was too young to appreciate the show when it was first televised in Australia, I have really grown to appreciate and still occasionally watch episodes from any of the six seasons.

I also really enjoyed the first movie and are looking forward to see what the writers have install for us this time.
Hi and welcome to my blog, this is my first post and I am super excited about it.

I plan to cover many topics including some of my interests such as fashion, weddings, celebrities, health, art, politics and health and lifestyle.
